Our very own sliding hill ...

Saturday afternoon ...
We came back to The Beach House following Brendan's party on Saturday. Since the kiddos had their snow pants with them, we decided to play outside for as long as we could stand the cold.
Our very own sliding hill!
The park snow plow has been piling the snow in front of my little house for weeks now. We decided to smooth it out a bit and use it as a sliding hill.
We also knocked down the huge icicles
that were hanging off the house … Chris used them
to fortify and protect his snow-guy.

I don't have any toboggans or sleds … so we wondered if perhaps a laundry basket would do the trick ...
But we found out pretty quickly that the laundry baskets I have are too small for these guys ...

The basket didn't slide very well and instead just dumped out its occupant in a rather nondramatic manner … I didn't even photograph the bad results.

But the kids didn't give up the notion of sliding and instead just used their snow pants to help them speed down our hill.

They had a complete blast with this little hill for about 45 minutes! We were completely cracking up.

What a winter we've had around here this year! And no end in sight …
When the children lived in Texas, I used to tell them about the Michigan winters and they would be so delighted to imagine all of that snow. Well now it's the real thing for them and they are having so much fun playing in it. I'm so glad for them!
