A mini-celebration of Matthew's Birthday

I picked the grandchildren up at 10:30 a.m. Friday (1) because they were on spring break, and (2) because they were not going to be spending the night with me (due to Matthew's Chuckie Cheese birthday the following day). We decided to have a mini-celebration of our own for Matthew.

Matthew loves LEGOS and had ordered TWO Ninjango sets a few weeks ago ~ we had a LEGO catalog and went on-line together. Matthew stuck very carefully to the budget (!) and then we placed our order. Look at his happy smile!

Christopher was invited to help assemble the models … so the boys were busy building while Emma and I played the piano for awhile.
After lunch, we lit the nine candles on Matthew's cake, sang "Happy Birthday" to Matthew, he blew them all out, and we ate double chocolate creamy birthday cake together.

We also continued our Bible story time, and this week we learned about the trial of Jesus and Peter's denial. We had a very good time talking about these significant events in history. But then … it was such a beautiful day, we decided it was high time we went outside and breathed in the wonderful spring air …
