Another Fun Day in Houston

This is the apartment complex where Nick and Rachel live
It's such a pretty place, surrounded by flowering trees
and beautiful tropical plants ...
This is the stairway up to their apartment ...
It has been extremely hot and humid here!
Thank goodness for air conditioning!
Baby Nia in her crib, looking beautiful (as always)
This is the treasure map Rachel painted on the
children's wall -- I like it very much!
This is the USS Nathan
the boat bed where Nathan sleeps ...
This is the main room/living area in the apartment
Very comfortable and attractive!
This is one of the many flowering trees
right outside their windows ... what a great view!
The women folk did a little food prep in the morning.
We made a banana cream, peanut butter chocolate pie
(which turned out very nicely).
AND we made a bacon-cheeseburger roll-up
(using pizza crust dough as the bread) -- it was simple and quite tasty!
We didn't have any huge plans for the day,
but when Nathan went down for his nap
Rachel and I snuck off to this great used bookstore.
We probably shopped around this store for more than an hour!
What beautiful children's books we found
at such a great price! :)
Each of us walked out of the store
with a full bag!

Nick and Rachel wanted us to see the Farmer's Market
where they shop every week ...
So Rachel (and Nia) stayed home to do some dinner preparation
and the rest of us went for a drive to the market ...
We purchased lots of fresh fruit to go with a
delicious fruit dip Rachel was making.
We also walked next door to a fabulous bakery
and picked up some yummy fresh bread.
Here is Nathan feeding a cinnamon roll to bear ...
Nathan likes to share all of his good stuff with bear.
We ate our light dinner of fruit and dip
bread(s) and drinks ...
And then for some reason, Nick started entertaining
the entire family with his remarkable talent ...
Here is Nick throwing grapes into the air
and catching them in his mouth!
Nathan squeeled with delight --
Rachel and I were cracking up ...
Grandpa was rather befuddled!
And then it was time to juggle apples!
Nick was like a regular three-ring circus!
Finally, Nick & Rachel went out for an hour of
time alone ...
Grandpa and I held down the fort at the apartment.
Nia Madelynn was just like Sleeping Beauty...
Isn't she sweet?
We had a pretty uneventful, quiet, but happy day!
