Our last day in Austin

"Let each generation tell its children
of your mighty acts.
I will meditate on your majestic,
glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles.
Your awe-inspiring deeds
will be on every tongue;
I will proclaim your greatness.
Everyone will share the story
of your wonderful goodness;
they will sing for joy of your righteousness."
PSALM 145:4-7
We had a quiet day in Austin today.
Olivia went to school,
and we played with the little kids
until we felt a bit stir-crazy inside the house
and decided to go run some errands.
There is a play place over at Toys-R-Us, and I wanted
to check on some clearance toys,
so away we went!
I found a few items, Jackson & Karis played,
we went a few more places, and then we were home again.
During nap time, we worked on dinner preparation,
rested, and grandpa and I began to get ready
for our very long drive to El Paso tomorrow.
When Olivia came home from school, she practiced her flute
for awhile ...
Grandpa kept baby Karis happy while her
mama and I put dinner on the table ...
Jackson wanted me to put him on MY shoulders,
but I told him I was too old ...
so he settled for Sabrina (quite happily, I might add)
Olivia played a whole tune for us ...
She is coming along very nicely on her flute!
We are proud of her hard work.
The whole family went to church tonight
where men's and women's Bible studies
are taking place.
They are studying the book of Revelation,
and Andrew and Sabrina are small group leaders.
Mr. Jones and I stayed home
to do our laundry and to pack.
Jackson likes to go to church and
declares that he is "going to play with God."
I like that.
He is just a little boy, but already has a precious
awareness of the Lord's presence in his young life ...
What more could a parent possibly ask for?

This plaque hangs near the entryway of the Rauch home.
It celebrates the Name of Jesus,
the Name that is above every name!

We have had such a wonderful time here in Austin
with Andrew, Sabrina, Olivia,
Jackson and Karis.
We have worked and we have played.
We have enjoyed good food and friendship.
We have shared each other's burdens.
We have seen the beauty of God's creation
in this place and in our hearts.
We feel very blessed!

"The LORD is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness!"
PSALM 145:17

I knew it would happen today... the little kids both miss you. We got home from taking Olivia to school in time to see daddy pass us on our street but then turned into our empty driveway. As soon as Jackson hit the door he started to walk around slowly asking, "Where Boppa? Where Grandma?"

They miss you. I miss you too very much. Maybe we can jsut start praying for a job in MI? ;)

A job in Michigan would be very nice. It's cold a lot, but I'm thinking you wouldn't mind that too very much ...

We miss you too. Hugs to all!

We arrived at our lodging in El Paso shortly ago. We had a good drive. I will shortly post some pictures. We are looking forward to these next few days, but missing you, as well as Nick and Rachel and their wee ones. :(
