August 22/23 with Emma

Saturday/Sunday:  We drove home from Muskegon, got some fast-food Wendy's style (and ate in my car due to COVID), dropped Jamie off at her mom's, dropped Kaity off to Jesse, and then Emma and I came here. Emma had gotten pretty burned from her day at the beach. This picture is from a few weeks ago, but this is the same suit she was wearing ...

Emma was hurting pretty badly by the time we arrived at my house, so we creamed her up and down, kept Matey separated in a different room (so that he wouldn't land on Emma's burned shoulders), and settled down to watch a movie.

Since I didn't plan very well ahead of time (I've got to get better at this!) we ended up watching 2012 (it was showing on Netflix). It wasn't a BAD movie, but it was LONG and it was kind of sensation (very actually). We liked some of the characters, though, and the storyline itself wasn't bad but we probably won't ever want to watch it again. There were a few "laughs" in the movie, but most of it was "end of the world" type stuff--interesting, but God said He wasn't going to ever destroy the world by water ever again--so, there you have it!

This morning we attended Calvary via LiveStream. Hopefully next week we are going to return PHYSICALLY to worship together! We are beginning a new series on the book of REVELATION. I'm so pumped for it! Pastor had a wonderful teaching this morning, and I am so excited to work through this book and see what God will REVEAL through His Son, Jesus!

I had an extra special birthday treat today as well. Jesse called and invited Emma and I to come over and "hang out" while he and Larry made a "room" for Matthew there at the house where Jesse has a room and Emma has a room. NOW, Matthew has a room too! What made it so special, was watching Jesse and Matthew interact ... to see Jesse treat Matthew with dignity, to listen to Jesse teach Matthew some basics of building, to watch Matthew respond and enjoy himself--it was THE BEST gift in the world. My heart was so encouraged for all of them. Thank you so much, Lord, for this wonderful gift today.
