August 4 Deer Park Junction III

The rest of what we did:  Brendan was aching to get into the tunnels that are really for older kiddos, but I knew I couldn't let the little kids loose in that area. Erin would surely get herself in one of those tunnels and not be able to find her way out ... and I am TOO OLD to crawl in tunnels ... plus, I could get lost in a shoebox--so I wouldn't be much help!
Thankfully, there were TWO interesting playareas within site of the playground Brendan wanted to play on! So the little kids played trucks in a huge sandbox ...
... as well as this area that has broken up rubber tires to play in--which actually is a "cleaner" environment than the sandbox and less likely to end up enbedded in scalps!

Erin and Aidan were very pleased to play here the entire time Brendan was doing his thing on the playground! YES!

But ... time was getting on and we needed to keep moving so that we could SEE and DO everything possible for our hefty admission price!
We certainly couldn't pass up feeding the camels!!! Watch Brendan ...

Brendan! You are a wonderful camel feeder! Look how much they like you!

We went to the next play area and the littles played inside the miniature house while Brendan did some serious climbing right outside the windows here ...

Aidan was quite happy to be inside where the goats were NOT ...

Aidan and Erin played "house" for quite awhile and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
Brendan climbed and explored.
Erin saw Brendan go into these tunnels and wanted to follow him SO badly. Thankfully, she couldn't quite climb over these benches to get to them.
PLUS, there were some very alluring little pygmy goats outside to look at.
And then we went OUTSIDE the animal habitats to play at the fort. There is no admission price for this area of Deer Park ...
The tunnels here area reasonable for little ones ... Aidan even did them!

What a great place. I would recommend Deer Park Junction to anyone! I'm so glad I had the courage (thank-you, Lord) to try this out with the kids. Due to the price, it's a once-a-summer opportunity.
