Back to Grand Haven ...

I had two days off this week: Monday (which is my usual day off), and then also Tuesday (a vacation day). I checked the weather for both days and the weather folk were saying Tuesday was supposed to be stormy, so I decided that I would ask to take the kiddos back to the beach on Monday.
Look at Matthew's happy face! He made some very nice sand molds and worked very hard at it.

Christopher made a river that he kept flooding with his bucket of water ...

Emma made a nice deep hole near the water's edge which got flooded by waves every now and then ...
Because the waves were DELICIOUS Monday at about 2-3 feet … just big enough to be fun but not big enough to be terribly dangerous. We swam in them for probably an hour, screaming with the excitement of letting a wave carry us to the shore. The kiddos were ecstatic the whole time.
We went back to the Imagination Station and played for awhile ...

… because it is such a great place to play.

After we played at the playground, we drove to the Ferrysburg side of the channel to see the north shore … the north shore -- don't you love the sound of that?
We walked the entire north pier … while the kiddos harassed the poor seagulls.

 We climbed the light ...
We watched boats coming and going ...

Below is The Wind Dancer ...

Matthew had some nice conversations with the seagulls ...

 Emma too ...

It was a gorgeous day! It was hot, humid and wonderful!

SO thankful for this nearby beautiful lakeshore to relax, play, and share with my kiddos.
