Morning on the water ...

Wednesday, March 13:  DAY TWO

We started out early this morning and were out on the water by 9:00! Yay! It was a little bit rough out there again today, a lot of wind ... not quite so bad as yesterday, but still! It was gorgeous out there, and since I was not the driver of the boat, I relaxed and just soaked it in.
These waters are tricky to navigate, but my brother is an excellent captain! It's terribly shallow water, and you MUST stay within the markers of the channels or you would very quickly run your boat aground.
David likes to open up the boat full speed ... I can't blame him -- it's a lot of fun!

We just stayed kind of close to home out on the waters this morning. There are so many beautiful places to visit and you get such nice views of the grand homes folks have built ...
 The canals are gorgeous ...
Look at this cool tourist boat! Doesn't that crack you up?

We ate an early lunch at a very nice place. We ate here last year too ... you would think I could remember the name of the place; but, no! You dock your boat on this private dock and then walk across the street to the restaurant ...

... where we ate the most delicious "groupie" I have ever tasted. YUM.

We were home early today because Carol was getting off work at 2:00 so that we could be leaving for Gainesville by 2:30 to meet Daniel for dinner tonight. It was so great to see him again after more than EIGHT years. How does time go by like that?!? We celebrated an early birthday with Daniel tonight. Berniece was with us too, but I neglected to photograph her. We have a lovely dinner at a pizza place in downtown Gainesville, followed by ice cream.
