The sledding hill

Saturday, March 9:  I've been talking to these two kiddos about sledding together for weeks now. I figured Saturday was kind of a now or never (for this year) deal. You see, I'm going to be out of town for about two weeks and perhaps, just maybe, the snow will be GONE by the time I return.
So Kaity and Brendan went sledding together on the sledding hill that is on the campgrounds at Maranatha Bible Church, off Lamoreaux. It's a great hill.
Kaity said there was absolutely NO WAY she was going down the hill on a sled, no siree. Actually, is was about 4 weeks ago, one Thursday after school, that she actually DID do that very thing--AND--it was faster than she expected. She has further declined ALL using of sleds.
Brendan, however, was determined to sled down and see how far he could go ...
Kaity waited in the wings ...
Brendan kept losing the sled before he actually hopped on it ...
But FINALLY, he did indeed place his body ON the sled ... and look how far down the hill and across the field he landed! Oh my word!
I think it might have been a little too fast for him too ... because, even though he did go down a few more times on the sled, getting it back up with hill was a challenge (it was a riot to watch). So, he finally joined Kaity's more practical notion of using his snow pants to careen him downhill.
These guys had so much fun ...

For quite awhile, they had the hill to themselves ...

This summer, when it is burning hot, I'm going to pull up these pictures and remind them how COLD it was!

 Hi there, darling Brendan!

Isn't this such a great hill?
Kaity climbed to the tippy-top of the hill. I announced she was THE QUEEN. She smiled accordingly.
Look how happy her face is!

Such a good memory ... cousins ... just enjoying life ...
