More to Explore ...

Wednesday Afternoon, October 24:  So ... this place is REAL! Yes! It was mentioned in small group Monday night at Bible study that there was a "new" park with hiking trails off of Leonard and Crahen. Some of the women had hiked there and said it was super gorgeous.
Last Saturday, Matt was really wanting to go hiking again ... but it was a rainy, cold, nasty, windy afternoon/evening and we did not get to do anything outside. I was really hoping to find another place, some place different, to hike with the kids this week. When this park was mentioned, I just had to take a little preview, just to make certain that this was something the children would like.
They will GO CRAZY! I've only shot a couple of pictures here because I really didn't go down any of the trails very far at all. You see, there is a DEEP gorge here and trails that go WAY down ...
I can't wait to see the kiddos faces when they SEE how high up this place is compared to what is down below!
This bridge is kind of a decoy away from all the good stuff ... there is a well defined and very civilized pathway across this bridge that essentially goes no where that is very interesting ... nothing at all worth exploring. BUT if you stay on THIS side of the bridge (nearer the parking lot) and you head to the LEFT, there are all kinds of beautiful and enchanting paths to explore ...

PLEASE, Lord! Please give us a good weather day on Saturday! I can hardly wait to show them this place!

Crahen Valley Park is well named. I had NO idea this valley was even here in Grand Rapids! It is VERY deep. I'll tell the kids that if we go to the bottom, we may never return ... how's that for adventure?!
