Hitchin a ride ...

Wednesday, July 25:  Look who (what) hitched a ride with me to work Wednesday morning! Goodness! As I was getting onto the 131 at Ann Street, I thought there was a LEAF on the front hood of my car ... but then it started walking! AND ... as I accelerated, it turned its body to the "safest" direction and used all six legs to hold on for dear life.

 I did not expect that this leaf bug would survive the transport ... but it did!

Look! When I show a close-up of it, it looks like it has a face! Do you see it? Eyes, nose and kind of scary mouth! Amazing! I believe this is a katydid.
