Our Annual AJ's ...

Wednesday, August 1:  The weather was perfect. ALL of the children were available for the afternoon! So we decided to do our annual AJ's run for our (my) money. These kiddos LOVE LOVE LOVE these go-karts.
These 31 pictures tell their own story. There is really little need for narration ... but ... goodness, haven't they all GROWN so much this year?!
Chris will be FIFTEEN in November! He drives this go-kart a bit like a maniac ... he is very passionate about it, always.
And Emma Joy has her GOLDEN birthday year coupled with her SWEET SIXTEEN in just a few weeks. I just can hardly get my brain around that ....
Emma is a thoroughly confident and competent driver having completed phase one of her driver's education, and holds a "permit" to drive with an adult. She knows all the rules of the road and reminds me of them often!

Matthew turned THIRTEEN in April ... he is an excellent driver as well.

And Kaity-Jane? She is absolutely hilarious in a go-kart! She drove her very own "mini-cart" 2x and then drive along with her grandma (me) for a trial run as well. We did great together.
Look at her little face ...
This picture is a scream ... she is SO serious ...

Look at her absolute DELIGHT in having driven her OWN go-kart (mini or otherwise).
We spent a little bit of time in the arcade (as little as possible) and the kiddos did well. I'm not much for arcades ... they just seem to me to be an early introduction to casinos ... gamble your life away kind of thing, and they are pretty addictive. SO ... I don't encourage them overly much in this endeavor. BUT, having said that, they did have fun in here.

But then it was back for ONE LAST race ...

I'm glad we do this every year ... traditions are good!
