This precious boy ...

Wednesday, April 24:  One of my favorite days of the week is WEDNESDAY, because I have a standing after-school date with this precious child ...

Every week, we have to finish up his homework--in between playing and eating and whatnot. But we usually get it all finished. It's not our favorite thing to do, but we're somewhat stuck. Brendan is getting his glasses tomorrow, which will hopefully help him in his writing/reading skills. He's already a good reader, but he is far-sighted--the close-up stuff is a bear for him--he's actually getting lenses with a prism in them since his eyes work so independently.
We played with a few of our toys, like the railroad and some of our blocks, etc. Brendan watched two short videos as a reward for completing his homework ...
... and then we settled down to read a good book together. "JESUS" is written in a manner that Brendan appreciates. Lots of ornate pictures, a lot like he is used to seeing at Holy Trinity, and a good narrative of the life of Jesus.
We had started the story and had read a few pages when Brendan remembered the Resurrection eggs and went to get them. We opened them as we read through the story.

Brendan loves these eggs and loves to open them and listen to the story of Jesus. He has a super sensitive heart--I'm so glad.

We finished out our time with a cookie, a small brownie, and some strawberries in a fancy bowl.
Brendan looks pretty worn out in these last pictures. After a long day of school, mid-week, he is a pretty tired little child. I love his little heart so much. It's extremely wonderful being his grandma.
