Playtime with Aidan

Monday, May 6:  My one-on-one time with Aidan is Monday afternoons. He turned two in March. He is very easy to spend time with. He is not a demanding little person whatsoever.
Aidan loves my play room. He runs down the hallway, looks at the cubicles, and picks out a few things to play with right away. He loves the Hot Wheels cars very much. He especially likes it if the cars have doors that open and close.
Today, immediately after spending 15 minutes in the playroom, Aidan hustled out the train container and started building track.
Aidan is super fussy about his train layouts--do NOT mess with him while he is building. I've learned to just build a track separately from his and then join them up when he is not looking.
Aidan is a very careful builder. He's also quite animated with the little trains, "choo-chooing" while he plays. He is darling.
It is crucial that his trains fit under each and every bridge. If one gets stuck, alterations must be made!
He is pretty enthusiastic about the whole deal.
Aidan totally understands the whole magnetic aspect of these little trains too. He knows how to turn each one around so that the magnetic poles are correct. He shows signs of being very mechanical in almost everything he plays with. He is a thoughtful little laddy too ... contemplative even.

Aidan enjoys himself hugely when playing and really gets into gear with all of my toys. It's quite satisfying to watch!
He especially loves the lighthouse--well--ALL of my lighthouses actually!
Aidan is talking more and more too. He also sings quite a lot. He's a charmer for sure.
Aidan is a tiny little person! At his last well-check, he was in the 1% of height and weight for his age. According to the charts, they do not figure Aidan will be much taller than his MOM when he grows up. Good thing he has a confident little personality.

Aidan also enjoys my horses and can make a truly believable "neigh!"
Here he is trying to affix the tiny broom back to its hook inside the stable. He finally accomplished his task--he certainly was patient about it too, trying many different ways to see if it could be done.

All the while, however, Aidan kept getting into the "kitchen" bin I have of all kinds of little containers we use for pretending we are cooking or eating with the stuffed animals. Aidan brought a bunch of stuff to the table and at one point, had it all set up for three imaginary people to enjoy their drinks.

I love these play times with you, baby Aidan! You are a precious little person.
