Sunday's stuff

Sunday, December 29:  Look who joined Emma and I for breakfast this morning! Who knew a little budgie would eat, and appear to LOVE, banana?
Emma cracked me up about this ... Matey kept approaching her bowl, interested in perching on its side. Emma kept brushing Matey off and finally he became interested in this banana slice--for quite awhile actually.
Isn't he the cutest little budgie bird?

At Calvary this morning, we celebrated our annual special communion service where practically the entire service centered around communion. There was so much beautiful and worship-filled music as we were served communion.

I also received victory over a personal fear this morning. I won't write it here, but I am very thankful God heard my prayer for freedom from it. Thanks so much, Lord!

After church this morning, we studied King Uzziah of Judah. He was such a nice guy, and a really good king ... until PRIDE took him down, like so many before him. Proverbs says that "pride goes before a fall" and these kings are certainly vivid examples of that truth. Anyway, Uzziah seemed to really love his people and the land--he took care of everyone, built up the kingdom, and was famous far and wide. For some reason, he got it in his head that he was worthy to go into the holy place at the Temple and burn the incense before the LORD. 80 courageous priests warned him, but he raged against them until SUDDENLY leprosy appeared on his forehead. He was rushed out of the Temple and had to live separately from people and never again entered the Temple. He was then king in name only. His son, Jotham, ran the palace and the kingly affairs until the death of Uzziah--who was not honored in his death, but buried in a field that was owned by the kings, because the people said: "He had leprosy." Emma and I discussed spiritual pride and pride in general. How scary it is! How proud all of us are! We were reminded to "humble ourselves before the LORD" and walk with Him each and every day, leaning on His strength and wisdom for our lives.
After our Bible study, Emma and I went to Meijers and purchased 3 medium-sized storage units, one super soft blanket for her bed, and a nice new pillow! She is going to use the bins to help her organize her bedroom and make it a happier place to be. I'm praying that the Lord will help her accomplish arranging her room this week since she is off school.

When I dropped Emma off at her house, Kaity was there looking a little bit forlorn. We decided to play a little bit in her room with her LOL dolls, and then we went into their spacious and cleaned up living room where we put together two very interesting puzzles. It was so nice to play with Kaity in a wide open space at her house. If the living room would just stay this way, I would be far more willing to play with Kaity over at her house when requested!
When I got back to the Beach House, I got Matey's bath all ready. Look how happy he is splashing around in it!
Thank you, Lord, for the blessings of this Sunday!
