June 28 Back to Pere Marquette

Sunday: Without a single missed exit or incorrect turn (!!) Emma and I returned to the beach Sunday afternoon after our Livestream Calvary service. We swam for about 30 minutes--the water was COLDER (brrr) today than it was yesterday! We did a lot of swimming, playing catch with a very cool little water ball, and then using our "boards" to paddle out over our heads and explore a little bit. It was very fun.
We decided to take a walk on the breakwater. Emma wanted to do a mini photo shoot in her pretty new bathing suit. It is NOT a bikini. It is merely a two-piece that looks very nice on her!
We watched the lake ferry go out ...

It was 3x more crowded out on the lake and on the beach today than it was yesterday.
I love sailboats SO much ...
This is such a beautiful place ... I love the little pierhead lighthouse a lot more than the breakwater light (which is oddly shaped and rather ugly).
We climbed on some of the rocks along the breakwater.
It made for a very nice background for pictures.

We purchased a yearly pass for the car since this is the very first year parking has been charged at this beach! But $20 sure beats paying $5 every time we come out--and it is supposed to stay in the upper 80's and into the 90's all through the month of July.

How many pictures do I need of this breakwater, this ugly lighthouse and beautiful Lake Michigan? I guess thousands!

So thankful for the time spent with Emma. She has become a good friend--which might sound strange being that she is my granddaughter, but it's true. I enjoy her company so much. God has richly blessed my life through dear Emma.
